what is aloe vera?
Physically Aloe vera plant is green in colour with a sticky juice inside, it has tiny spikes on it's sides, the useful part of aloe vera is it's gel, which is thick, sticky, and colourless depending on the species as there are many species of the aloe vera plant .
Chemically it contains alot of vitamins and enzymes, therefore used for many things, ranging from medicine to beauty products.
The aloe vera plant has been in use for over 4000 years, dating back to the Egyptian time. Cleopatra used this plant generously for her skin...
Aloe Vera gel can be used in skin or hair products and even internally because It has many medicinal properties, alot of vitamins and enzymes that work wonderfully for our body.
How to get aloe vera.
It can be gotten in stores in the form of body creams, hair shampoo, hair conditioner etc.
However, you can also plant an aloe vera plant in your backyard and alot more will grow around it, if your want to et the pure unrefined forn of the aloe vera gel.
Now I'm going to tell you the benefits of aloe vera and in my next post how to extract aloe vera if you have a plant and how to apply it to your hair. Take note that if it is not properly extracted it could become poisonous, though this poisonous case is rare.
Benefits of Aloe Vera gel on the hair.
1. Prevents hair loss. There are many reasons why you could be losing your hair but that doesnt matter to aloe vera, with its many nutrients, your hair will not lack, if you treat it wIth aloe vera gel
2. Alleviates itchy scalp. Aloe vera has anti-pruritic properties which takes care of the ichy scalp
3. Prevents dry or oily scalp. Aloe vera in the hair penetrates the scalp heavily, with its stored water, it will provide the moisture needee by your hair therevy keeping the scalp moisturized, preventing the dryness and taking out the excess oil.
4. Treats alopecia. Alopecia is a condition where there is excessive hair loss at specific regions on the scalp, resulting in bald patches around the scalp.
5. Removes dandruff.Dandruff can be caused by alot of things, it can be caused by dryness, lack of nutrients as well as fungi. Aloe vera has anti-fungal properties which will battle the fungi causing the dandruff. Regular use of aloe vera will reduce the dandruff in your hair.
6. Reduces inflammation. Aloe vera has an anti-inflammatory enzyme. This allows aloe vera to be used internally too, to reduce inflammation.
7. Balances the p.H. Aloe vera is alkaline in nature. The alkaline properties of aloe vera keeps the acidic contions of the hair in check. Many bacteria thrive in this acidic condition. A balance on the p.H will promote hair growth.
8. Repairs damaged hair. Whatever condition your hair may be in, aloe vera will make it better and in a short amount of time. It will heal the hair from the shaft to the tip.
