Extraction and application of aloe vera to the hair

source: photopin

Earlier on I wrote about the benefits of aloe Vera gel and I promised to write a new post on how to extract the gel from the aloe Vera plant. Well, that promised day is today!

Do you have an aloe Vera plant in your backyard or balcony or you just recently got an aloe vera pant but you don't know how to extract the gel? Problem solved! In this post I am going to show you… well describe to you two thing: how to extract the aloe vera gel and how to apply the gel to your hair.

So if you don’t have an aloe Vera plant but you have the gel, then you can skip the extraction part and go straight to the application part. if you don't have aloe vera gel and you want to get one, then check out my associate store with amazon in the section "shop now!" on the page section above ( get your aloe vera gel here)

Be careful when extracting the gel, aloe vera could be poisonous depending on the species,  so when getting aloe Vera plant ask about it.

Aloe vera plant has strong smell, the gel doesn't have this smell though, so once its extracted the smell goes. Heads up! Aloe vera gel is very thick and sticky, so be careful how you handle it.

Things you are going to need:
Knife
Blender
Cup
Bowl
Aloe vera plant
Cutting board
Spoon
Plastic cap
Hand dryer

Extraction of aloe vera gel from its plant
1. pick a leaf preferably wide one from the aloe vera plant, the wider it is the more gel it contains. Pick three or four leaves depending on the thickness and length of your hair.

2. pull the leaf away from the plant's  base or use a knife to cut it at  an angle from the base.

3. tilt the open end into a glass cup, leave it there for about 10 to 15 minutes

4. place the aloe vera leaf on a flat board.

5. on one side, cut off the spiky end but be careful not to cut too far away from the spiky ends, so that the gel pour out and get wasted.

6. cut into the now spineless side in the middle so that the leaf opens up into two equal halves

7. use a spoon to scrap off the gel,  don’t scrap too hard, so that particles from the leaf will not mix with the gel. These particles are hard to get off the hair.

Application of aloe vera gel to the hair
1. pour the aloe vera gel into a blender and blend well. while blending, many particles will move to the bottom of the blender, be careful not to mix up these particles in the next step because these particles are hard to remove from the hair

2. strain  the gel into a bowl, leave the residues behind.

3. apply the gel to your hair, thoroughly, moving from the root down to the tips.

4. cover your hair with a plastic cap

5. heat up the hair with a hand dryer or sit under a dryer if you want for about 5minutes.

6. rinse your hair and continue with normal hair care routine
